Light It Up – Creative Ways to Illuminate Your Fairy Garden

Light It Up – Creative Ways to Illuminate Your Fairy Garden
The subtleties that lie in creating a picture-perfect fairy garden are all in the details. However, often overlooked are those illuminated accents that make this charming world come alive well after the sun sets. After all, fairy friends love to frolic in the moonlight.

Solar Homes

Just what goes on when these curious creatures retire for the evening? Fairy houses come in all shapes and sizes, many of which will illuminate once the sky turns dark. Radiating light (and intrigue) with windows all aglow, a solar fairy home is a warm and welcoming presence to all who roam the garden at night.

String of Lights

Just because the daylight ends, doesn’t mean the fun has to. Like many gatherings, a twinkling from above may be the perfect setting for a fairy garden party under the stars. Add a string of lights to guide guests and set the stage for the evening’s festivities. Choose from solid or multi-color LED strands for a night that’s bright and filled with merriment.

Glow-In-The-Dark

Not all that illuminate, glow. And not all that glow, illuminate. We’ve discussed solar and battery-operated ways to have your fairy garden radiate with character in the dark, but there’s also the activated color décor that glows bright in the night (or in a darkened space.) When the lights go down, glow-in-the-dark fairy accents can be seen throughout the garden. From the fairies themselves with orbs that glow, to winged insects like dragonflies and snails indicating night life that beckons, it’s the little things that can have a big impact.

Landscaping & Accessories

While most people assume landscaping for fairy gardens consists mainly of rocks, moss, and succulents, many forget what they have in their own homes that define their dwellings. A charming gaslight-looking lamp-post in front of a micro-home ensures residents find their way. Or a glowing firepit nearby inviting neighbors to enjoy an evening outdoors. From illuminated acorn paths among the leaves, to a fairy’s own flower garden spotlight, the right home accents can be a beacon in the night in this micro-universe.

Illuminating your fairy world brings a new dynamic to the garden. New stories to be created, and new friends to be made. Keep the creativity going long after the sun goes down with the accents that bring charisma to your garden by day, and a brilliance by night.

Thank you for all of your sweet ideas. I had 6 fairy gardens this past summer. All of my houses are solar, and a few have lights surrounding them. I love the little touches like fire pits that glow, and post lamps. Everything is tucked away for winter now, but I can hardly wait for next spring!!

OMG! Adorable… I am in the midst of selling my house but can’t wait to start a new Faerie Grden when I move!

I’m disabled and fairy gardens are the only thing I enjoy.
